Many drinking water and wastewater facilities in Ohio, analyze some parameters in-house. No facility can analyze all parameters, that are required by the Ohio EPA. Those samples need to be analyzed by a certified lab, such as MASI. Most clients do not have the staff, nor the funds, to transport samples to the lab. Many are not comfortable shipping their samples. Samples can arrive aged, broken, or even frozen. MASI provides a lab courier service, for a nominal fee, that takes away that worry, and prevents any added expense.

Originally, Mobile Analytical Services Inc. (MASI) travelled the state with a mobile lab. As our client base quickly increased, the mobile lab became impractical. A fairly sophisticated routing system began to be developed to pick up samples at the water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities in the state. That routing system currently covers over 80% of Ohio. Our lab couriers pick up the samples on designated days, and those samples are delivered to the lab on the same day.
Our trained lab couriers know the requirements for each parameter. This includes the proper sample container, preservative (if any), volume needed, and if the analysis request form is completed correctly. Couriers will arrive in an identifiable MASI vehicle, and will display a MASI photo ID. All samples are transported on ice, in coolers, to maintain proper temperature. Each cooler is equipped with a thermometer, to ensure that temperature requirements are met.
All in all, MASI takes its role in public health seriously.
