1) What is the MASI Labs holiday schedule for 2010?

 

             MASI will be closed on the following dates.

2) What if my pick-up day is a MASI holiday?

 

MASI reschedules all routes if they fall on a holiday. Our clients will be notified of any changes to their regular pick-up day prior to the holiday.

 

 

3) Does MASI do testing for private individuals?

                               

No. MASI does not accept samples from private individuals or residences. We would suggest calling your local health department.

 

 

4) What can I do if I have an emergency?

 

MASI has an emergency response team that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We provide this service to our clients who are under a boil advisory, experience line breaks, or have an environmental spill. MASI clients, who are experiencing a true emergency, should call 614-873-4654 and follow the voice prompts.

 

 

5) What are the directions to MASI labs?

 

            We are located at 7940 Memorial Dr, Plain City, Ohio.

 

We are approximately 1 mile from the intersection of US Route 33 and State Route 161 (Post Road) between the cities of Dublin and Plain City.

 

From I-270, take the Marysville (US Rt 33/ St Rt 161) exit. Take Route 33 to the Post Road/St Rt 161 exit. Turn west from the exit. At the first traffic light (Industrial Parkway) turn right (north). The first road to the left off Industrial Parkway is Memorial Drive. We are the third business on the right. (directly across from Columbus Builders Supply)

6) What are MASI Labs business hours?

 

            MASI is open from 8:00am to 5:00pm, 

            Monday through Friday.

 

 

7) Are there any restrictions, for analyzing total coliform by

     the membrane filter method?

 

Yes. Due to the possibility of a 96-hour positive confirmation, MASI labs will not accept samples for the membrane filter method) on Fridays or the last working day prior to a holiday. MASI will, however, accept samples to be analyzed by the MMO-MUG method Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

 

 

8) What are MASI Labs certification numbers and expiration

     dates?

 

Wet chemical certification number is 4039

and expires 06-23-2012

               

Micro/bacteriological certification number is 877

and expires 09-13-2011

 

Metals certification number is 4039

and expires 06-23-2012       

  

9) What is the hold time for unpreserved total metal

     samples?

 

                14 days

 

 

10) What is the hold time for total coliform samples?

 

                30 hours.

 

11) Does MASI accept total coliform samples on the

       weekends?

 

Yes, but only by prior special arrangements and with additional fees

 

 

12) How long does MASI retain samples after they are

       analyzed?

 

Approximately 30 days

 

 

13) What does a negative or positive result for total coliform

       mean?

 

Negative indicates that there was no presence of coliform bacteria found in the sample analyzed.

 

Positive indicates that there was a presence of coliform bacteria found in the sample analyzed.

 

 

14) Can I add a pick-up other than my scheduled pick-up

       day?

 

MASI will make every effort to satisfy your request for an additional pick-up, depending on route availability. MASI would need to be contacted at least 48 hours in advance to make that determination.

  

 

15) How can I cancel a scheduled pick-up?

 

Simply call MASI at 614.873.4654 by noon on the previous day of the scheduled pick-up. If MASI is not given enough advanced notice, a stop may still occur. If that happens, and there are no samples, there will be a “no sample” fee charged.

 

16) If I do not wish to pull my own samples, does MASI offer

       this type of service?

 

Yes. MASI services group is a division within MASI labs that performs the sampling and transports the samples to the lab. Many of our clients use this service to take advantage of a worry free EPA sampling and analysis requirement.

 

MASI also has a field projects division that can run computerized onsite composite sampling for special projects, industrial surveillance, new well analysis, and bioassays.

  

 

17) Can I have my results emailed to me?

 

Yes. MASI prefers to email results so that you receive your results as soon as we get them. Simply call MASI to set up your emailed result service.
